a time, I and a black dog met. Here he is, so handsome, don't you think? I try my best to take good care of him. Dogs are great pets, It is only right to provide them a good home.
As for me, I am sewing some hand projects lately. One of my favorite things to sew are pillow cases, It's the different prints that can be used, and then I add my own touch by embroidering them too. I'm hand sewing hexagons with scraps pieces, then eventually I want to quilt the piece into a pillow cover. Can't wait to finish it and then I can show it.
Have fun sewing!

I am...
Wow! has it been a while. I am back to my computer to try to do some entries on this blog of mine. So here we go.
I have made 3 beautiful baby quilts, 2 new bags, and 4 new tops for me.
For the longest time, I was not as good as I wanted to be on sewing collars for blouses but I finally got it! My latest top is a western pretty print blouse, and it actually looks like I got it from a store.
I am now a lot more confident with this skill and the nice thing about this is that I can make my pretty blouses in all the pretty fabric prints that I like and in my size!! I am still getting all the snaps in, quite a few to go.
The fair is coming around soon, and maybe I can wear my new blouse to the fair. We'll see..
Here are other projects I made. This bag is now in my ETSY shop.
Here he is, my lovable pup.
My pup is playful as ever!! He is almost 7 years old but he has a lot of playful energy. That's my pup! He loves to get outside for his daily walks, and he loves to see people and other friendly dogs along the way. Talk about a social butterfly!!
Our weather on the Central Coast is just lovely, warm and sunny and breezy, and cool in late evenings and early mornings. It's beautiful. I am about to start a 4th baby quilt for another new mom to be, and I got the cutest fabrics today. I also have plans to make more wallets, bags, and clothes.
Sew, take care, and remember time to do something that can inspire you and others.
Enjoy your day, it is a gift!

This is a cute rag doll I made. Her name is Honey. Dolls are another favorite item to sew, always love to make dolls and cute dresses.
These are some necklaces I made from a pattern I saw. They are fun to make in all colors.

Lovely cool days!
Time to bundle up! I love fall weather because it's fun to wear cozy slippers, socks, sweaters, and pretty hats! While it is getting cooler these days, I do still love to get out and do my walking. My pup also loves it and I still get to have time to do my sewing.
My bag is all done and I'm already using it. What do you think? It has the western feel to it because western prints are some of my very favorites. I do love big bags!

May your days be going brightly, and filled with joy from family and friends. It is the time of thanksgiving and love for one another so get out there and spend time with your family and friends.
My prayers and thoughts go out to the citizens of Paris France today.

Sew happy, I'm sewing!
Hello,
Well, have you been staying creative and busy? I have. Here are my latest sewing adventures.
So here are a few things that I just finished. I really enjoy making these little girl dresses, they are simple and I can make them so different than what you see in stores. For sale in my ETSY shop.

So unique!
Sewing these small pieces of clothing are a great way for me to use up some fabric, to sharpen my sewing skills, and to make something unique for someone to wear.
I also enjoy making myself clothing. I made myself some skirts, and a vintage top recently. My next item I would like to make is a western blouse, maybe soon I will have it made. We will see...
Well, where ever you may be, if you read this post, please drop me a comment or two. I would love to hear about sewing tips, or recipes, or how your neck of the world is. So hoping to hear from you.
For now, I wish you all happy November, and blessings.

Do take care, keep looking up to the sky!

Greetings
Hi, Happy Sunday.
I'm enjoying this day just resting, nothing like just hanging out and resting on a Sunday.
Came back from church this morning and made some homemade biscuts. I love biscuts! Now I will have some left over for tomorrow's breakfast. Wonderful!!
Think I'll watch some television and do some hand sewing of course, I always have something to sew or embroider when I'm watching tv, its so relaxing for me.
Here is the quilt I just finished and I call it The Ocean Quilt.

I love to look at it, the many shades of water blue to darker blues, reminds me of fresh cool ocean breezes like the ones we have in the evening going through our back yard. Lovely.
It is now listed in my ETSY shop.
Scrap fabrics are my thing, I collect them and admit to having a bit too many scrap pieces of fabric but I would love to keep using them to make quilts like this one, so forward and onward I go.
Well, hope you are all having a lovely Sunday afternoon wherever you may be. I am thankful to my Lord, My God, who so lovingly provides for us these beautiful afternoons to enjoy. Keep looking to the sky and raise your hands up to him who loves you.
Take care, KS

Classical Music
Good day to you.
Happy Father's Day to the dads of the world. Fathers are very special people. Hope they have a restful Sunday full of love and family.
I'm listening to some classical music while I type. I have always loved classical music, since I was a child. Playing violin first, then the clarinet made me come to love classical music, concerts, and orchestras. Oh, the thrill of playing in an orchestra. I did that as a teenager in high school, I'll never forget it.
Thank goodness for our public library, where you can go check out music for free. It's Violin Concerto Prelude and Dance from Akhnaten Company, Adele Anthony, Violin and Ulster Orchestra Takuo Yuasa.
As for sewing today, let me show you two pictures of the flannel quilt I just finished today! It's a child's quilt or a baby's quilt.
The texture of this quilt is definitely soft, warm, and cozy,
You can see more pics on my Etsy shop because I plan to sell this one. It is so warm and perfect for cooler months to come.
Sure was fun to make this one because it was time to use up some flannel pieces I had saved. Now it is a very useful article that will make someone feel loved. Who doesn't like a favorite blanket?
Please leave me any comments, or words of encouragement, or any classical music you recommend me to look for. I hope you all have a great Sunday,
Enjoy. Blessings. KS

It has been too long!
Hi.
WOW, OK, WELL, OH, DEAR, HA.., Sorry its been too long. My apologies.
I've been up to my sewing, walking, working, gardening, cooking, shopping, the usual.
So how are you doing? How is your sewing life coming along? As you can tell, sewing is one of my favorite hobbies, what I love to do and sometimes cannot find enough time for it. Life is full of things to do, isn't it? I guess that is what is good about life, there is always something to do and to get done and somewhere to report to everyday.
Let me tell you, the last project that I completed was a baby quilt, and I got paid for it. I enjoyed making it, and adding it to my sewing earnings. The recipient really loved it, that was greatest part of it.
Here are two of my newly completed little projects, They are little purses, so cute! They were fun to make because I love to do the quilted bag look, it makes these bags very sturdy and functional. See more on my etsy shop.
Here is a picture of my cute and loyal companion. He has aged a bit, getting a wee white around his muzzle, bound to happen. Still cute as a button, don't you think?
OK, off I go to lounge around here, but first something that I recently heard,
"In His Presence", a phrase said by my radio pastor a few weeks ago, To be in God's presence when we pray, when we go to church. Awesome thought to be in the presence of our Lord. That is why today, I got up, got all pretty and wore my finest to go be in the presence of our Lord. So glad I did that, there is no other place greater than in his presence.

Here she is, Miss Cornelia
Well here is my sweet little Cornelia. She is now for sale on my Etsy shop. I really hope she will bring a lot of joy to some special and sweet little person out there. I very much enjoyed creating her.
I have always loved making dolls, it is something that I find to be a unique skill. Doll making, it somehow comes together when you find some fabric, stuffing and imagination. Here is her front view and back side view.
Lately, I'm in an apron making mood, I'm making aprons for a spring show coming up. I also decided to make some toaster covers because they are so easy to make, and some embroidered hand towels for the kitchen. Like a lot of other people out there who love aprons, I'm with you! Aprons are simple and colorful, and so needed.

So, what are you doing this spring? any plans?
As for me, aside from my love of sewing, I have my vegetable garden to start planting. That is sure to be some hard back breaking work. I don't mind it, because I love having some home grown tomatoes, zucchini and chiles to look forward to.
Hope you all have a great weekend, and Happy Valentines to all. KS

Beautiful!
Hello. Isn't this a beautiful sight? I just love the pretty flowers and green hills. Something to look for once spring comes upon us.
Where I live, we sometimes see flowers that look like a painted canvas over hills, the colors you see are purple, yellow, pink, and white. It's God's gift to us, what joy this brings. It makes me happy.

Today, we went to church, and then to breakfast. One of my favorite things to do, especially with loved ones and friends.
Now, I'm thinking of sewing, so off I go to my sewing room. I made the cutest little doll yesterday, I must finish it today and then I'll show it to you.
Happy sewing!

It's a holiday!
Hi everyone. Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day to the whole world.
Good to be back here again. I'm here to show you what I have been up to.
First let me tell you, it's good to take a day and clean up. Today I cleaned up my vegetable garden, getting rid of the old plants, and roots, and it sure felt good to see it that way. I'm thinking it's almost time for new dirt, and ready for news plants, such as onions, tomatoes, chili peppers, and zucchini. It is something to work on in next few weeks.
Next, I finished some sewing, oh yes I did! Finally I got something into my Etsy Shop.
Please let me introduce Hazel. She is a handmade doll, so cute with her sweet kind face. You can see more pics of her in my Etsy store.
She is wearing a cute cotton print dress, with white lace and polkadots.
I love this dress, wish I had one for me too, but when I found this fabric, it was just a remnant. Just enough for this 21 inch doll.
Then, I got started on this super big tote bag. It's big enough for many items, and for the on the go woman. Great for kids things, clothes, towels for the beach or a big picnic bag, electronics, you name it. I fell in love with the prints, and knew I had to make something with it.

How I love western and Arizona prints! This tote is now in my Etsy store.
I'm working on many projects, and I hope to have them here soon. I'm invited to join in on a craft show this year so I'm looking forward to selling my goods there, it is sometime in the spring. It's exciting!!
Western print with cute boots. The lace just needed to be there. So cute!
Ok, I'm still thinking of a tutorial, I really want to try my hand at this. I have an idea, but it's still turning in my head. I hope to have it here soon, lets hope.
As always, may whoever is reading this have a wonderful glorious day, and remember to give thanks for all that our heavenly Father provides for us, and for his son, Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
Enjoy, and keep looking up to the sky! KS

Merry times
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas with the people they love to be with. I am thankful for the times spent with family.
I made this ornament from Tilda's little bear pattern, and I used some glitter, sequin and beads to dress her up for Christmas. In the box she went for the annual Christmas ornament exchange party and the recipient was very happy to get her.
I'm thinking of some new ideas for projects that I could share, so hope to be back soon with more of my sewing adventures. Until then, God Bless. KS

It's Christmas time!
Hi, I have been soooo busy, you know how it goes during this season. I love, love Christmas time!! and I love the busy times of seeing relatives, mailing Christmas cards, cooking, decorating for Christmas, baking cinnamon rolls, (everyone's favorite), picking out a gift for a loved one, and looking at the beautiful colors of Christmas, and a side from all this fun, the most important thing I remember is the reason for the season of our Lord and Savior's birth. Jesus Christ. He lives!
These are some pictures of my little decorations I have up, they are so cute and my home feels extra cozy during Christmas time.
Well there you see, I love Christmas!

I am working on some sewing, yes really I am, on my friends quilt that I hope I can complete soon. It is queen size quilt so it takes time.

Happy Veterans Day!
How thankful I am for the veterans, they do have a special place in my heart.
Here is the quilt I finished, just in time for Christmas. It is for sale on my Etsy shop. So excited to get it pictured. I love how it came out, so pretty, and has that cottage feel.
Nice and warm too!
Pretty green vine with leaves on the back.
Hope your days have been good. It's that time of year when the wind blows a bit more, and the leaves make that pretty sound as they move around in the air. It's a lovely time of year.
I love the bustling and moving around and what girl wouldn't love shopping! It's so much fun to have a day just out either by myself or with a special friend, and just eat a little lunch, walk around the sights, and buy a little something too.
In between my daily outings with my Mr. (here he is lying on a cool floor after a long walk), I try to get in some sewing, or some embroidery work, or sewing a quilt for a friend.
I'm relaxing!
The quilt show in Santa Clara last month was wonderful! I enjoyed seeing the quilts, the vendors, and getting a day away. It was a dream! All that fabric, and pretty little things to keep someone very busy.
Now, back to work I go getting some things done. Christmas is approaching and got to get some gifts finished. Enjoy your day. God Bless! KS

Overwhelmed
Hello.
"Overwhelmed" is the title of a new song I recently heard on KLove, christain radio. It's by a band called Big Daddy Weave. I just love to listen to this song. Good music just soothes the senses.
Well, an update on my pretty quilt. I have started sewing on the binding but this picture shows you the back of the quilt. The back fabric actually had a pretty print of vines and leaves on one side, thought it would look different on the quilt but it works just fine. I'm a firm believer in using what I have on hand if at all possible and this piece was just waiting to be used for something. All cotton of course.
Other things that I sometimes like to make are bracelets, earrings, and bead necklaces. It is fun to use those little shiny beads, so I started looking at my beads that I have saved for a while and I found a book on making bracelets with beads. I made one bracelet. Soon after the first one, came a second one which I sent to a friend of mine and she loved it. They are so pretty and fun to wear.
My friend also received a receipe that I wrote down for her to try, it is my version of Alfredo stuffed jumbo shells with artichokes and ground turkey. She just texted me to say she loved the bracelet and it fit her perfectly.

Two more pink tone bracelets, one for my daughter and another to give away.
I'm happy that it made her happy.
So, as you see, I have been busy lately with my bead work, and with my quilting. What new projects have you started? I think I will keep making more bracelets, they can be addicting once you start on one but quilting and sewing are still my favorites. Go start a project folks, you will have so much fun with it. I just read a neat article in Molly Makes magazine where the writer said, crafting really does relieve stress. I love that! Blessings, KS

Glorious Day
Hi. It is a glorious day of the Lord! Wow, I just got back home from church. It was a great message and wonderful songs to our Lord Jesus. I so much enjoy seeing my friends, and my family members there all together. We have such a great place to worship our God.
We are in Revelation, and it is great to hear the news of our Lord Jesus Christ who is coming for his people.
I love Autumn time, and we are in it now. Beautiful trees changing color, and the coziness of putting on a warm sweater in the morning, especially a Sunday morning. I hope it is cozy and beautiful where you may be too. As for my sewing projects, here is where I am with my new quilt I'm working on.
They are a bunch of 6 inch squares that came together to make this twin size quilt. As you will notice, I still do the pinning with safety pins, haven't started using the new adhesive sprays on the market, but maybe I will try it out sometime. Any helpful hints are welcome.
I tried to stay in the pinks, mauve, color palate but threw in some yellow and light blue. I'm thinking of putting some yellow for the binding. We will see how it turns out.
Since I haven't put anything new into my store for some time, this one will be going for sale on my
Etsy shop.
Here is my sweet lab, he loves my attention. Always wants to play with me, Who could resist this face?

Joyful sounds!
Joyful sounds of my big wind chime outside my house is so lovely. My favorite place to sit is on my park bench after a long walk back home when the two of us can hardly wait to get there after we walk up to 2.5 miles. Something about wind chimes like this makes me happy :).
It is starting to remind me of the pretty times of fall. Already I see pumpkins coming in at our local Trader Joe's store. It's wonderful and I'm thinking pumpkin bread, hmm, so good! Our weather this week is great, sunny and a slight wind. The cool breeze is very welcomed, such a blessing!
As for my sewing, I started on a new quilt, and can hardly wait to finish it. I have another one that needs quilting, very soon I hope. It seems that I have little projects always going around here, its either hand sewing, embroidering, or sewing hexagons . I also just finished and sold a very cute skirt to a lovely lady. Sorry but I completely forgot to take a pic of it. Oh well.
I'm looking forward to attending the Pacific International Quilt show this year, it's held in October and in the city of Santa Clara, the place where you find "Great America" the amusement park. A fun place to go if you haven't gone yet. Can hardly wait for the quilt show!! All the vendors, quilts and people to see, it's amazing!
Time to go do some sewing, Adieu! KS

Happy Labor Day!
Hi. It's good to get back to my computer and write a little bit. I know it's been a while. Today I'm just hanging out at home all day, so I used my labor day to finish up this really nice bag. It is from Lisa Liams, A bag for all reasons book.
I found the fabric at Birch fabric store. I visited the store a few weeks ago and spotted this left over piece of fabric, I new it would be nice as a purse or bag and here it is, just finished it today and so happy about that.
The lining is also a nice color of blue. The bag was pretty easy to assemble once I got all the pieces cut out and labeled. Then I used many of my saved up magnet closures, D rings, all the metal pieces were recycled from old purses. It feels great to finally use up these items that I saved for a new bag and I love it!, what do you all think?
Here is a pic of a little dress I made for a little girl who turned 2 years last week and just loves the Cars theme.
Of course I said yes to the request for a dress. I added some bows, and checkered fabric. I think it is very cute and easy to wash and wear, just what little 2 year old's need.
Something I enjoy is baking. I especially love the smell of the cooked peaches, or apples. It reminds me of being home, a calm time, Here I made a peach pie. I'm still working on getting the crust just right, it always seems to be the most difficult for me. Any hints are welcome. Take a break and enjoy a piece of pie. Keep looking up at the sky. KS
