Working on projects

Hi. We are winding down now on this beautiful Sunday evening. After attending church this morning, I came home and started some sewing. I got started on a dress for a young lady who is going to dress up as Wendy from the Peter Pan story. It's a simple dress with some ribbon so it should not be too complicated to make.
I also have plans to make some dresses for a consignment store nearby. I've been meaning to start on those but you know how it is, things come up. I will have to get started and give myself some time each day in order to accomplish my goal of having these dresses all done. Thank goodness Dancing with the Stars is on only  Mondays now. Well, got to go get some sewing done before this Sunday evening is over. I thank my beautiful Savior Christ Jesus for all the blessings. KS

Tea towel

Good day to all. Its a nice cool day and we have already done our walk and back home again. My sweet dog (black lab) did great, he loves walking, can't wait to get out the door. He's good about waiting for me and that makes me smile because he is a good companion to walk with. I'll have some new pics of him soon. I am a fan of linens, don't know why but I love linens. I guess it is the colors, textures, designs on them.   I like to embroider them and applique them, and I enjoy creating projects that I design myself so here is one of my tea towels I just finished. I was thinking of a kite flying in the air when I designed this one. 

The pretty pink cup was found at a thrift store on one of my treasure hunting days. I love the pink, gold, and flowers on it. I just had to bring it home. I am very thankful to our Lord Christ Jesus for the many blessings. 

Off I go to start another project. Happy sewing! KS 

Happy Wednesday

Hi. The change of weather is among us, I love the fall time. 

Its so cool and breezy, I love seeing the change in colors, and it feels great to walk my dog in such cool weather. I'm working on getting things ready for a yard sale, its the best time of the year to have yard sales. Hopefully we get a huge turn out, I'll try to take some good pics to show you all and some pics of my latest projects. It's sometimes hard to part with things isn't it? but I keep telling myself, live a simple life and throw it back into the stream. More to come soon, have a great rest of the week. New pretty fabric

Happy Sunday! It's a sunny and beautiful day, a perfect day to relax at home.  I love fabric, and I want to show you what I got on my little trip to the coast last Thursday. Here they are, and I'm thinking of something to make with them. I love fabric with designs like cameras, little word sayings, and really love anything with ocean themes. Happy quilting. KS

I'm someone who enjoys spending time with my family and friends. I was so happy to have a nice lunch today with my friend and my sweet daughter and my beautiful son in law. I'm so Blessed!!
It was fun to catch up and see pictures of my friend's new place she plans to live in. We wish her the very best in her new adventure.  Yesterday I got to drive over to the beach and had a chance to just breathe the fresh air we have around here. It was just so wonderful, with the cool breeze, and sunny skies. Something to be so thankful for and I am. I am so grateful to our Lord for his many blessings. While enjoying the fresh air, I also popped in to the cutest quilt shop (of course, I cannot resist!) and bought a few little pieces of the cutest fabric. I may make another cute quilt with these fabric pieces. I just finished a quilt, take a look. I would love some feedback. You can see it at my etsy shop. Happy trails. KS

Pieces of fabric

It's a lovely Sunday, and a good day to make my friend a little going away gift. She came by for a short visit and gave me a few scraps of fabric yesterday because she knows how much I love scraps. What to do?? Well, as always I got to sorting them and came up with an idea for a quick project. I made a mug rug. I plan to give it to her along with a few more little sewing treasures before she moves. She is a lovely person and she loves quilting too. I'll miss my friend but I know we will be keeping in touch.

Getting Started

Here we go, this is my very first time at blogging. My hope is that I can inspire others in some way, just as I have been inspired by reading other blogs, especially the sewing and quilting blogs out in the world.
Yes, quilts are one of my favorite things to make, along with so many other projects. I am supported by my lovely daughter who is so smart and talented herself.
I hope to have some neat pics to show, and maybe attempt to have some tutorials along the way.
